High arches, also known as a Pes Cavus foot type, can also become an issue, as most forefoot ailments are associated with this type of foot. A roadmap is provided when we observe your foot to determine how much support is needed, as this is coupled with the degree of supination and how much correction can be given.
In most cases, Pes Cavus foot types are best served with custom inserts, as the majority of over-the-counter inserts do not fill the arch properly and can cause over-correction. This misalignment can affect your ankles, knees, and legs, creating an over-supination effect, which is why deep heel cups for lateral stabilization are needed. We can elaborate more during your consultation, depending on how much you supinate or how high your arches are.
